hi this is shree from mumbai i wantedto know whether we have any tool for hardisk which has created physical bad sector in it if so what is the tool and how it can be used
This might be of some help: I tried the DOS EzAssist 5.20 from WinXP command prompt window but the utility says it doesn't find a Mylex product.
Then I tried to boot the computer with a bootable floppy diskette made with WinXP, but the DOS EzAssist 5.20 seems to freeze at the rotating segment cursor.
I then tried a Win98 bootable diskette and ran the DOS EzAssist 5.20 and this permitted me to get past the rotating detection segment and enter the User Interface of the DOS EzAssist, but then it doesn't respond.
----> I then put on a jumper on JP5 <----
And then tried again Win98 bootable diskette and ran the DOS EzAssist 5.20 and this permitted me to get past the rotating detection segment and enter the User Interface and now this time I can navigate within the EzAssist. I proceeded to try and reflash the controller by going into advanced configuration-flash utility and following the procedure in the document "X2000-Readme_520.txt
After this, I removed the jumper JP5, but my controller is still not responding normally. Your experience might differ though after going through this same procedure. Keep us posted
i just picked up an old server for basily nothing, it has a raid system in it with three hard drives and room for five. I was wondering if there is away to either make all three dives look like one or to make it use all three drives seperatly?
Funny, I have the exact opposite problem. I have 2 scsi drives but want to boot from my IDE drive. No matter what I do, it won't boot to the IDE. I even pulled out the SCSI drives and it won't boot to the IDE. The BIOS is seeing my IDE as Hard Drive 3, which is incorrect, but I'm at a loss as to how to have it see it as 1. I can't boot to HD3 (as it sees it) and I can't get it to get recognized as HD0 or HD1. I might pull the whole scsi controller out, since I don't want it...
First, do not write anything further of the formatted HDD... Second, you can usa a program like "OnTrack EasyRecovery Professional v6", to recover, even from a formated HDD. As for as the Ghost image, I am still working on that myself... [Support@VBSWeb.net]
