Software Development Engineer
The Role
Work closely with our software development community, field application engineers and program managers to track, reproduce and provide regular status on customer reported problems. As required, debug, code and test in the Windows driver environment following our software development process. Coordinate closely with software management to ensure that software schedules are maintained and that regular software releases meet customer expectation from both a scheduling and quality level.
Qualifications:
Must have strong programming skills in the 'C' language relating to the 'Windows' environment. To be considered your programming skills should be well rounded covering all levels of programming from ring 3 to ring 0. Strong applications programming is not essential but would be beneficial in this role. Any related experience in graphics driver programming would be considered a strong advantage. Must have a strong knowledge of Workstation applications and as they apply to the PC Notebook and Desktop business environments. As an ideal candidate you must be familiar with the OpenGL Workstation ISV certification process and possess a keen working knowledge of the more common Workstation applications such as I-DEAS, ProEngineer, Unigraphics and CATIA . Preference will be given to those candidates who possess formal project management training skills preferably certified and also possess a wide range of experience related to managing small to medium size software development projects in multi-user, code sharing environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as are good interpersonal and time management skills. To be successful you will be required to be self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects under demanding circumstances. Good reporting skills and a strong working knowledge of source code management techniques is essential. Good working knowledge of Windows operating system architecture. Familiarity with the Linux operating system will be considered an advantage but is not essential. The candidate must be familiar with standard debugging tools such as SoftICE, WinDBG and Windows IDE debuggers.
