Is anyone having trouble updating channels in FreeGuide?

For those of you who don't use it, it is a TV programme guide and more.

Nice one thanks.
Freeguide does all terrestrial, cable and satellite stuff too and you can
choose which ones to display. However it is still in beta and sulks from
time to time.

I tried Freeguide here in the states, Texas, Houston, only problem was that
I can't get it to print, can't copy any description and paste it elsewhere.
But what a fantastic thing. Don't have to be online or anything, and can get
2 wks of listings at one time.

I use http://www.zap2it.com/index , this is where you get the listings to
download for FreeGuide. I don't know how one gets listings for the UK. Do
you have a zipcode there? See this link for CH 8 in Houston, it was the 1st
"Public Television" channel in the US. It is affiliated with the University
of Houston. If you look at the schedule, you will see lots of British TV
shows.

Link to automatically show Ch8 lineup in Zap2it:

Found the problem with the help of Andy Balaam <andybalaam at
artificialworlds dot net> . Freeguide simply could not find the directory of
my web browser, simple to correct. He got back to me overnight.

Thanks Jim,

I hadn't seen this program before. Since seeing your mention here, I've
tried it out. I hope you are able to get it working again.

Yes I got it working except that some of the 'new' channels here in the UK
don't show-up even tho' I 'ticked' them eg more4 and itv4.

I could use some help.

When I went to the URL above, there were two versions available.

One version was platform independent and the other was for
Windows.

The Windows version was about 25 times larger than the other. Why?

The second problem is that I am familiar with RPM installs on Linux
but I don't know how to install them on Windows (it says "platform
independent").

Thanks for any help.

Jack
