Hi I have a s2w 3300 U acer scanner and when i installed the driver (Mirascan) it didn't detect, hence windows autoinstalled as flatbed_23 scanner. When trying to scan i receive a dialogue "Scanner is being used by other application" or "Scanner already on job1/job1 wait to complete", this is the msg even i trid switching on/off the machine.. Please help...
ya the hard drive is probably broken. you could buy a external case and recover any important data. Newegg has alot of deals on 2.5 inch hard drives very cheap i bought my 80 gig 2.5 inch threre for $74.99! www.newegg.com
The issue with the PC-Ling is sequence of events. You do not plug the cables in. You open the app on both the machines. You plug in first the USB connector to the machine you want to be the local files. Click connect. You then plug in to the machine you want at the remote machine. Click connect.
just purchased a roll of cat5 to hook up router to computer number two light flashes on router but will not connect? 1st one works fine. i bought cat5 ends with crimpper tool i think i have all the wires the same, any suggestions. Thanks RT

I installed a Toshiba SD-R5372 DVD writer in my WindowsXP system for its wellknown features to replace my old DVD writer. But, may be due to my hard luck (I don't know), no matter I put any disc (CD, DVD, friends discs, blanded, new old demonstration ...) in the writer, after some usual seeking movement, the window just repeated "Please put disc in the drive"!! I have checked the drive with many softwares (Nero Burning Rom, Pinnacle Studio maker, Ulead, including WindowsXP system manager...etc) just reported the drive is OK and full of supporting features! I of course also checked the hardware installation and setup and no fault was found. I just can not figure out what's wrong with the SD-R5372. Can any folks out there can enlighten me with any possible problem with the drive Thanks a lot.
Hi, I have a Thinkpad A21p. A week ago I got a Microsoft security alert which said there was a serious security problem and I needed to update my system (was running windows 98) After the update the the computer would lockup on different applications frequently. I talked to two tech people with years of experience and they said the thing to do was to backup your data, format the disk and load new system software. I did that and during the Windows XP or Windows 2000 setup it would go through the formating procedure and then proceeded to load the files. Every once in a while it would come to a file that it said it couldn't copy. I would try hitting retry or esc to skip and eventually would end up with the blue death screen. My two tech advisors who had years in the field both independently came to the conclusion that my hard drive was bad. Purchased a brand new hard drive and the same exact problem happened. One the blue death screen it suggested shutting off bios shadowing so I asked about that. However when booting the computer it says press F1 to enter the bios setup. If I press F1 it says entering Bios Setup Utility and just stays there. I can't access the bios setup. The next suggestion was to download the latest bios upgrade from the IBM site and upgrade the bios which I did. That proceedure seemed to go well. However when I started up the machine it has the same problem - when I press the F1 key to enter the bios setup it comes up with a screen that says entering the bios setup utility and just stays there. I can't access anything other screen or the setup. Any ideas on fixing this? Thanks in advance for your help. All the best, Ted Sudol
