| WANTED: Discovery channel series "It Takes a Thief" Konstantin Yushkevich 21:38:11 |
| | Hey folks. I know its slightly off topic, but i figured since you know all kinds of stuff about sat receivers, i might as well ask. Does anyone rip and store tv series in mpg format? I'm looking for early episodes of "It takes a Thief", a discovery channel series that aired in the beginning of 2005. The series is no longer on the air, and it has not been released on DVD, so i'm searching the internet. CAN ANYONE HELP ME??? I see so much stuff ripped off the satellite (english and russian), that someone, somewhere MUST have those episodes in digital format. If you don't, you may know someone that does SatRip. Any help would be appreciated.

| help with ip web cam Prodriven 16:42:21 |
| | i've recently got a creative live! wireless ip webcam.
Everything is set up but when i reach the part where i configure ddns, i gave it a domain name of creativeip.creativeddns.com and it generates a wan ip from my router.
something went wrong through the process so i reinstalled my webcam but this time round, it doesn't allow me to create a ddns domain name anymore. it gives me the error "user is is already used". this happens for every other unique name that i key in. the webcam shows me me ddns is disabled. but a wan ip is issued and its the same wan ip i goit initally. my router's wan is no longer this ip anymore. i tried flush /dns on my pc and it still doesn't work. I restart the webcam, recycle the power, press the cold reset button on it and it still gives me the same error.
How do i reset my webcam webserver so that that initial wan ip is flushed from my webcam or for that matter from the ddns server?
thanks a million for responding
cheers

DSO will deliver DTT to 98.5% of the population and free up spectrum that could enable new broadcast services, such as mobile TV and HDTV on Freeview, to be delivered to UK viewers

| Sony SNC-M1W camera inquiry Hdixon 22:16:15 |
| | Just wanted to see if anyone has purchased this and what their opinions were of it. Looking over some of the networking info about it makes me wonder if the setup is tied excusively to their installer software. A lot of internet/web server based cams come with default networking so browser connection to and configuration is simple enough. I would like to know if this cam is similar in nature.
TIA for comments.

| | Here we are when the FCC promised us, back at the turn of the Century, that the US TV viewer would experience full conversion to HD quality programming and reception. So, for one, we view the Wimbledon tennis matches on both ESPN and NBC in crappy NTSC vision. At least, the World Cup has been brought to us in HD.

| outdoor web cam DeNacho 21:30:34 |
| | my husband and i are avid water skiers and we have a LaCrosse wireless weather station at home that feeds into our website. that way he can check temps, wind speed, etc. from work. we'd like to top that off with an outdoor camera mounted to the house so he can see what the water looks like from work. we live in Illinois and would only keep it outside for part of the year (April-Oct). it would be mounted under the eave on the East side of the house to protect it from the elements as best we could. does anyone have any suggestions for cameras and maybe software (if it isn't included). i'm a moderately dangerous computer user (not too afraid to break something). any advice would be appreciated!

| Is DVB-T IP based like DVB-H or not? Partho 21:55:27 |
| | Hi:
I was researching MPE-FEC, and much of the litt indicated towards the fact that DVB-H was IP based, and hence MPE was needed to map from the non-IP based DVB-T to the more recent DVB-H?
Is it true that DVB-T and other older DVB standards (such as -C and -S) are non-IP based?
Woudl appreciates some clarification on this.....

| the new experience using webcam Haipt 15:20:08 |
| | Hi all,
After two years of research and development, we have come up with this application called IMDisguise (acronym for "I am disguised" and "Instant Messenger Disguise"). Basically it could add a lot of fun effects when you are using your webcam (e.g. when you are doing video recording or doing a Video Chat with your friend, so your friend can see it too!). It works seemlessly with any video application on Windows 2000 and XP, and compatible with most of the USB webcams on the market. Currently we are at pre-launch state, and looking for users who would try out the software and give us any kind of feedback on it (through the forum on the website) So, if you could spare some time to try out something novel and fun, please take a look at http://IMDisguise.com ,I really appreciate that. Or if you think reading this post is a waste of time, I do apologize.
haipt http://IMDisguise.com
P.S. If you want some more information, carry on the reading (posted on networkworld.com)
" "A whole new video experience" If you happen to own a webcam (which is quite common these days), check out the new software IMDisguise from EyePower Games (http://IMDisguise.com). The software's name, IMDisguise, is an acronym for both "I am disguised" and "Instant Messenger disiguise", which pretty much says it all. Using advanced face tracking and video morphing technology, the software allows users to put on various funny expressions (like the super-wide mouth or alien face), 3D video emoticon(like tear dropping from the eyes), or headgears (like sunglasses, different hairstyles, animal faces) when they do video chat or video recording. But the really cool and novel features are those animated pens that allow users to put the cinematic special effects into the video in real-time. For example they could burn up fire with the fire pen, cast magic with the stardust pen or put on their own face makeup with a blusher pen (which really stitches to the face after drawing). The software is currently in closed BETA version (available at http://IMDisguise.com) and will be officially launched in early August. It runs on Windows 2000 and XP, and works well with other video applications (for example Instant Messengers like MSN or Yahoo Messenger, or Video Editing softwares like Windows Movie Editor). "

| Logitech brings back Quickcam Pro 4000? Guest 21:34:54 |
| | Hi,
Just wondering - has anyone noticed that Logitech a few months ago removed the Quickcam Pro 4000 from their website? I just checked today and it seems to be back. Does this suggest that they recognized that the 5000 was not as good as the 4000 and have now brought the 4000 back?
Any opinions on why this might be? (And can anyone else confirm that this is what happened?)
Thanks! Brad

| Panasonic Tau Won't Turn On Guest 16:40:01 |
| | Hello,
I purchased a Panasonic Tau CT-32HC43 about 2.5 years ago. The set has generally worked great, but suddenly this afternoon it will not turn on. My wife tried to turn the set on and saw it begin to turn on, but then suddenly it went off and it hasn't turned on since.
I've tried unplugging it for a few minutes and plugging it back in as I have found some suggest online, but that hasn't seemed to help. The Panasonic support office is closed (early), but in any case I'm sure they will just tell me to take it to the nearest service center which will be a pain due to the size of the unit.
Has anybody experienced anything like this with this particular model who has an easy fix?
Thanks in advance for any help.

| Using webcam with dialup Penny 01:08:28 |
| | Several months ago my family set up webcams so we can keep in touch. We all have high-speed internet and it's working perfectly. I'm wondering if this will work with dialup. We're using MSN Messenger and Logitech Quickcam Pro. We'd like to include someone who does not have high speed available in their location. Any thought's on this would be much appreciated.
Best regards,
Penny

| wifi ip cam Michael Shaffer 06:07:29 |
| | I've been using the wired version of these cams. I'll bet you can get this one for less than $125.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/D-Link-DCS-5300-SecuriCam-IP-Network-Internet-Camera_W0QQitemZ280006147041QQihZ018QQcategoryZ11188QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It has sound in one direction only. II allows you to listen. I thought you might like the wireless version as it will be much easier to set up. You'll need to have an always on internet connection such as cable or dsl.

| What is a good portable webcam ? Timppa Saarinen 23:58:34 |
| | I need information about webcams . The most important thing is that it has to work like a Camera, which means I can unplug it and take it with me out for a walk, and take pictures and then transfer them to the computer. Also it has to be cheap.
