I own a Sony DSC-P200 digital camera and I am very please with it. I now need to take pictures of very small objects, like watches and rings. I am not able to get very close to the object with my Sony. Is there a macro lens that I can attach to this camera? Is there a trick? Thank you very much.

| 1920 x 1080p, the new breed of displays Wayne 19:55:25 |
| | These questions may have been posted too many times before, however. . . .
1. With Blu-Ray or HD-DVD DVDs just around the corner, why is the new breed of 1920 x 1080p display not equipped to handle sources at that resolution?
2. Also, what is the latest feeling regarding Hollywood and their push to invoke 960 x 540p when classic component cabling is used? (their push for all systems to use HDMI/HDCP technology)...?
Best Regards, Wayne

| Installing 3Com HomeConnect cam with IONetworks driver? Peabody 19:21:04 |
| | I would like to set up my old 3Com HomeConnect webcam on my new XP computer. My recollection is that the last 3Com drivers were released long before XP, and if that's true they probably wouldn't work so well.
But IONetworks still sells the same camera as the Watchport/V, so I assume their drivers will work fine under XP.
I just wondered if anyone here has experience running the 3Com camera under XP, and if so, which drivers did you use?
Also, if anyone remembers, do you plug the camera into USB first, or install the drivers first?

| Webcam Motion Detection Execute Command Line with options Sam 01:57:53 |
| | Hello all, was wondering if anybody knows of any webcam software that could execute a command line command with any command switches i.e. -l -m -i I need the program to essentially "wake up" the PC from video standby once it detects motion, which of course would need to run in the background. The way I have it set up now: Using Active Webcam to execute a batch file once it detects motion. The batch file then executes a command for the program "Power off" that tells to monitor to wake up. My problem with that is because Active Webcam only offers to execute a program i.e. .exe or .bat. But I need the batch file to remain in the background and not pop up when it executes. The only way I know how to do this is with a command line option. Thanks for you help in advance!

| Logitech QuickCam & Yahoo Messenger CSTechie 01:50:29 |
| | Hello.
I've read various messages and tried many solutions, but none work so far. I've got a Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000. I am trying to use this with Yahoo Messenger. The video works great, but there is no sound.
I did all of the audio set up tests. I disabled the firewall on both computers. I did tests with other applications and was able to record using the QuickCam camera.
But still, no sound with Yahoo Messenger. One of the applications that the software shows in the options screen is Messenger. Does anyone know if there could be a compatibility problem with Yahoo with Voice and the Logitech camera?
If anyone has other ideas, I'd really appreciate the help. I've spent 3 hours and have gotten no where fast.
Thanks. CS

| | I am looking for a way to compress recordings from Active Webcam from pysoft.
I was originally compressing them in divx but when I try to pull up the recorded files overs its iternal webpage they dont seem to stream. I have 100 megs files so I will really need some streaming and the abilty to skip ahead.
Is there a codec that I can use that would allow for streaming and skipping around in the file?

I was thinking my mice/ weather/ traffic etc etc.
I can't afford to pay a lot so a free site would be excellent.

| Web Cam Processor Requirement Uncle Jed 15:27:51 |
| | Hello, I am shopping for a notebook that will accommodate a Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks Pro. According to the system requirements, I'll need a notebook that has at least a Pentium P4 1.4ghz or AMD Athlon 1ghz. The recommendation is for 2.4ghz or better.
I'm looking for some user feedback on what I might expect performance wise with this camera from users that have tried the camera on notebooks equipped with processors of speeds on the base end of the requirement to the recommended speed. What have you found that does work/ does not work? What advice do you have? Will I get great performance from the camera on a notebook that has a 1.4ghz Pentium processor?
Thank you for your help!

| Can I use my own Scientific Atlanta 3250 or is Cox Digital TV Box proprietary? Dr-Art 19:41:09 |
| | Sorry if this question is misdirected. I thought you "guys" would be the most knowledgeable on this subject. If I subscribe to Cox Digital TV, can I use my own box, i.e., Scientific Atlanta 3250, or is the Cox box programmed in a proprietary way that an OTC purchased box would not have?

| | Logitech WebCam MP.
Do a lot of people get the feedback issue as described in other posts?
How accurate is the audio/video if I am talking and want a friend to see/hear me remotely on another computer?
Can they see me live via a web page or must they use an IM messenger type program?
Thank you Patty

| SAMSUNG DLP 3 BLINKING LIGHTS OF DEATH Guest 07:53:18 |
| | I have a SAMSUNG DLP hln617w1x/xaa and its broke.
Here is what has happened. First, I got the three blinking lights at power up, I looked in the manual and it said to replace the bulb, which I did.
I got the new bulb replaced it and it worked for about another week. Again back to the same problem, 3 blinking lights. Funny enough, when i took the bulb out and put it back in it worked. When I power it down over night and turn it on the next day I have to take the bulb out and put it back in in order for the tv to power up. I know it makes not sense.
I called Samsung and like everyone else, they are a joke. At that point I wished I had bought the service plan, but I am a cheap, so it looks like I am on my own.
Did some research on the internet and people say to replace the ballast. So I replaced the ballast. It was too easy. GREAT my television worked for another week, then back to the blinking lights of death.
So at this point I bought a new bulb, new ballast and still no working television.
I took the back of my televison off (for the 1400000 time) and watched the television try to power up. I saw the ballast trying to "spark" but it looked like it was not "sparking" enough to get the lamp to fire.
So I took the new ballast out and put the old one back in and it worked for 3 days and now it is back to the 3 blinking lights of death.
Can anyone give me any advise on where to go from here?
