I'm no stranger to DVD authoring, but I'm having a problem I can't resolve. I'm trying to author a single-layer DVD that contains 1 VTS. It consists of 3 videos, a couple of motion menus, and 1 slideshow. (This is the first time I've tried creating a slideshow, so I'm thinking this may be the problem.) I'm using DVD Lab to author, and I'm using its built-in slideshow creator.
When I compile using DVD Lab 1.53, it seems to compile properly, but the resultant DVD is damaged. Nero won't burn it, stating that there's a DVD reallocation error. If I try to open the disc using DVD Shrink, I get an Invalid Data error ('Overlapped I/O Operation in progress')
Now, if I take the exact same structure and compile using DVD Lab 2, the compiling is successful and can be burned with Nero and opened with DVD Shrink. However, when I try to play it on my DVD player, each menu jerks up and down in a rhythmic manner.

I'm just guessing here...so, dvdlab2 compiles a good project.. you got all specs the same, like aspect ratio, and only one format PAL or NTSC on that disc ? maybe check on a other standalone player, because when DVDLab accepts a project to compile, it DOES make a disc according the DVD Video standards... or it is a bug in the DVDLab software... and then you should report it, and it will be fixed... -- The Fug

Thanks for your response, Fug.
I've been able to find a workabout First, I was able to determine that one problem was specifically with the slideshow. So after creating the slideshow with DVDLab 2, I used ProCoder 2 to encode to MPEG2 and WAV files, then I imported them to DVDLab 1.53 and compiled. This resolved my jumping images in the slideshow. The jumping images in the menus seemed to be an issue with DVDLab 2; it didn't happen when I compiled in 1.53. However, it was 1.53 that originally created the error messages that wouldn't allow it to burn with Nero or open with DVD Shrink. It's all extra work, but I finally managed to finish what I started to my satisfaction.

Why do you need to go through all kinds of troubles to create more trouble?
If you wanna create slideshow or presentation from Still Images (Photos) then I would suggest to go with ProShow Gold. There are many similar or most slideshow/presentation programs work pretty much similar to each other, so it should be Know_One_Know_All. And the ProShow Gold stands above most others because it offers nearly 300 transition effects, and including Caption with few dozens of transitions effect.
It can burn directly to CD/DVD right after created the presentation, but I would suggest to save the presentation to hard drive as MPG (DVD quality) then author it later with DVD Author like TDA (or DVDLab if you like it so much).
So, you do not need to waste anytime with DVDLab, Procoder, and only need to use DVD Shrink if the size is larger than 4.4GB.
